Solution

We know that when an acid reacts with a metal it forms salt and liberates hydrogen gas.
\(Metal+Acid \to Salt + Hydrogen\)
Now, curd and sour substances contain acids and if these are kept in brass and copper vessels then the acid present will react with the metal and spoil the food, thereby, causing food poisoning and corrosion of the vessels. Thus, the sour substances and curd should not be kept in brass and copper vessels.
