Which would require a greater force accelerating a $$2 \,kg$$ mass at $$5\,ms^{-2}$$ or a $$4\, kg$$ mass at $$2\,ms^{-2}?$$

## Answer

As per question- $$m_{1}=2\,kg\,,a_{1}=5\,ms^{-2}$$
and $$m_{2}=4\,kg\,,a_{2}=2\,ms^{-2}$$
As, force, $$F=ma$$
In case $$I$$
$$F_1=2\times 5=10\,N$$
In case $$II$$
$$F_2=4\times 2=8\,N$$
Hence, $$F_1\gt F_2$$
So, for a mass of $$2 \,kg$$ and acceleration of $$5\,ms^{-2}$$ it requires greater force.
