What is the relationship between mass and inertia? Explain with the help of examples.

Inertia of an object depends upon the mass of an object. More the mass of an object, more will be the inertia of an object. A more massive object has a greater tendency to resist changes in its state of motion. Here are some examples to understand this concept
$$(a)$$ Consider a massive rock whose mass is about $$100\; kg$$ and a small rock about $$10\; kg$$, both the rocks are at rest initially,when we try to move them,since the small rock has less mass, its inertia is less that is it offers less resistance when someone applies force. While, large rock offer more resistance to change its original position of rest to motion due to its mass. It is easier to move a small rock.
$$(b)$$ We can increase the velocity of our bicycle by pedalling harder, i.e., on applying more force. But the same force will produce a negligible change in the motion of a bus, because in comparison to the bicycle, a bus has more tendency to oppose any change in its state of motion because of its larger mass i.e., the bus has more inertia than the bicycle.
