The median of the data $$40, 50, 99, 68, 98, 60, 94$$ is（ ）
A. $$40$$
B. $$60$$
C. $$68$$
D. $$99$$

C
4.6
4.6

Solution

Arranging data in ascending order we get $$40,50,60,68,94,98,99$$
Total number of terms ($$n$$)$$=7$$
Here $$n$$ is odd.Therefore,
Median = $$\frac{(n+1)}{2}^{\text{th}}\text{term}$$
$$\therefore$$ $$(\frac{7+1}{2})^{th}=4^{th}$$ term is median.
$$4^{th}$$ term is $$68.$$
