## QuestionPhysicsClass 12

The earth takes $$24\;\text{h}$$  to rotate once about its axis. How much time does the sun take to shift by $$1^0$$  when viewed from the earth?

Time taken by Earth in one complete rotation $$=24\;\text{h}$$
$$\mathit{i.e}$$  time taken by $$360^0$$  shift $$=24\;\text{h}$$
$${\therefore}$$ time taken for $$1^0$$  shift
$$=\frac{24}{360}$$
$$=\frac 1{15}\;\text{h}$$
$$=4\;\text{min}$$
