Solution

Present age of father \(42\) yrs
Present age of son \(14\) yrs
(a) Ratio\(=\frac{age\ of\ father}{age\ of\ son}=\frac{42}{14}=3:1\)
b)When son \(=12 \)yrs father was\(=42-2=40\) yrs
ratio \(=\frac{age\ of\ father}{age\ of\ son}=\frac{40}{12}=10:3\)
c)after 10 years age of father\(=42+10=52\) and son\(=14+10=24\)
ratio\(=\frac{age\ of\ father}{age\ of\ son}=\frac{52}{24}=13:6\)
d)when father=30 years old means 12 years before, son was \(14-12=2\) yrs
ratio\(=\frac{age\ of\ father}{age\ of\ son}=\frac{30}{2}=15:1\)
