## QuestionMathsClass 10

If in a triangle, square of one side is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides. What is the angle opposite to the longest side?

(A) $$60 ^o$$
(B) $$30^o$$
(C) $$90^o$$
(D) $$120^o$$

The sides of the triangle are h, p and b.
As per the given question
$$h^2=p^2+b^2$$ ....(Pythagoras Theorem)
So, the longest sideis the hypotenuse.
In a right-angled triangle, angle opposite to hypotenuse is $$90^0$$.
$$\therefore$$Required angle is $$90^0$$.
So, option C is correct.
