Following are the car parking charges near a railway station up to Check if the parking charges are in direct proportion to the parking time.

Answer

for 4 hrs: \(\frac{{60}}{{4}}={15}\)

for 8 hrs: \(\frac{{100}}{{8}}={12.5}\)

for 12 hrs: \(\frac{{140}}{{12}}=\frac{{70}}{{6}}\)

for 24 hrs: \(\frac{{180}}{{24}}={7.5}\)

as we can see, the proportions are unequal

so parking charges are not in direct proportions to the parking time
