Question

\(\dfrac{1}{3}rd\) part of the length of a bamboo is coloured red and \(\dfrac{1}{5}th\) part of its coloured green and the remaining \(14m\) is coloured yellow. Find the length of the bamboo.

Answer

Given,\(\dfrac{1}{3}rd\) part of the length of bamboo is colored red and \(\dfrac{1}{5}th\) part of its colored green.

Remaining part of the bamboo is \(1-\dfrac{1}{3}-\dfrac{1}{5}=\dfrac{7}{15}\).

Then according to the problem we've,

\(\dfrac{7}{15}\) part of the bamboo \(=14\) m

Then the length of the bamboo is \(=\dfrac{15}{7}\times 14=30\) m.
